Plain version: these tools are free, they run on your own device, and they are offered as they are. They exist to make an expensive mistake less likely. They cannot make it impossible, and nothing here should be read as a promise that a file is safe to send.

Specifically, and this is the part that matters:
To the maximum extent the law allows, chneas and its author are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of these tools, including the disclosure of information a tool did not detect. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is nothing.
If you are a consumer in New Zealand, nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Those rights apply regardless of what this page says.
Use the tools on files you own or are authorised to inspect. Do not use them to examine material you have no right to hold, and do not use the site to break the law of your country.
Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. There is no account, no storage and nothing for us to hand over, because there is nothing held. What each tool sends over the network, which for five of the six is nothing at all, is set out on the privacy page.
The tools load open-source libraries from public content delivery networks, pinned by cryptographic hash so a modified copy will not run. Those libraries are licensed by their own authors under their own terms, listed on the credits page.
Advertising slots on this site are contextual and are served inside a sandboxed frame that cannot read the page or the files you drop into it. If that ever changes, this page and the privacy page change with it, before the change goes live and not after.
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies.
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
